Why Choose Farm Fresh Eggs?

If you’re looking for an alternative to store-bought eggs, farm fresh eggs might be just what you need.

Farm Fresh eggs come straight from the source, often from chickens that have been raised on small local farms or even in your neighbors back yard. Not only do they taste better than eggs bought from the grocery store, but they also offer many health benefits.

One of the main advantages of farm fresh eggs is their superior nutritional value. Studies have shown that eggs from free-range chickens contain more vitamins and minerals than those from commercial chicken farms. For example, they are higher in omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for heart health, as well as vitamin D and vitamin E.

Another benefit of farm fresh eggs is that they are often produced using more humane and sustainable practices. Chickens raised on small farms and backyards are generally not only loved and cared for (we adore our chickens!) but are also allowed to roam freely in order to eat a more natural diet, which can result in healthier, happier birds. Plus, buying eggs from local farmers supports the local economy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do your eggs cost?

We are currently closed for new customers but we charge $4/dozen for our farm fresh eggs.

If you’re looking for fertilized eggs for hatching or interested in raising baby chicks of your own, check out our Chicks and Hens page.

What breeds of chickens do you raise at the farm?

We started out with bantam silkies, then wanted a variety of breeds that lay eggs in all different colors, from brown to white to green to blue.

Our favorites by far are California Whites (for white eggs), and ISA Browns (for brown eggs) and starting in 2024 will only be moving forward with these 2 breeds that excel in egg production and have super friendly temperments.

Do chickens stop laying in winter?

Great question!  Most chickens don’t completely stop laying over the winter months, but they definitely slow down.  We try to keep our egg customers updated when production slows.

Do you wash your eggs?

We actually do not wash or refridgerate our farm fresh eggs when we get them to our customers.  All of our egg orders are fulfilled the week the eggs are laid so they are extremely fresh.

Eggs also have an amazing protection called a “bloom” that surrounds the egg fully and stops any bacteria from reaching into the egg.  Once the egg is washed, the bloom no longer protects it, so at that point is when the eggs need to be refrigerated in order to protect it.

We strongly suggest you wash your farm fresh eggs in warm water (cool water can cause bacteria to be pulled into the egg through the pores in the shell) immediately before use.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Venmo and cash.

How do I order?

We are currently closed for new customers; if that changes, we will update our s newsletter!
